Project Summary

MaximizeX is a web-based e-commerce marketing solution created to enhance marketing campaign efficiency in the post-iOS 14.5 landscape. Its purpose is to circumvent the limitations posed by traditional tracking tools due to privacy updates introduced by the App Tracking Transparency framework from Apple.

Business Challenges

When starting a marketing campaign, every marketing specialist or e-commerce business owner wants to track their results. Meanwhile, tracking ad views, product page visits, and other parameters showing users’ activity, is related to some access to private details of every customer visiting the website.

App Tracking Transparency framework allows users to select if their activity on websites will be tracked; therefore, some part of marketing data remains out of statistics. Facebook pixel cannot gather necessary information on users’ behavior in Meta marketing campaigns, demonstrating incomplete data and preventing marketing specialists and business owners from proper targeting.

So, an app solving this problem was necessary.

Solution

Our custom software development solution is focused on replacing the Facebook Pixel with a first-party endpoint for ad tracking. The application integrates with Shopify gathering statistics on events, and with Facebook ad campaigns to track users’ activity, allowing to compare and monitoring of campaign results and search for optimization opportunities.

Design

As the project itself originated from the own idea of the company, all design and development work was performed internally. UI/UX design of MaximizeX interface is laconic and visually consists of many dashboards and lists, displaying monitoring data. The style of the app is low-key and minimalistic, allowing for focus on valuable information and analyzing events.

Technologies

Web development involved the use of Vite and React.js technologies on the front-end for a seamless user experience, fast updates, and tracking. Next.js was used for the back-end, with support for MongoDB as a database. The landing page was created based on WordPress (PHP).

Functions

This app allows users to perform the following:

  • Connect Facebook and Shopify accounts for further activity monitoring. The app provides especially designed code snippets for these purposes;
  • Connect Shopfy plugins;
  • Set up event tracking and adapt the statistics display to user’s needs;
  • Add brands for further tracking;
  • Create multiple business accounts;
  • Review users’ activity through various dashboards;
    • The app allows filtering by different parameters to define detailed characteristics of customer activity and their reaction to ad campaings;
    • It also displays detailed financial and tax statistics where required;
  • Connect analytics collection systems;
  • Manage billing and payments;

A Chrome extension for MaximizeX is also available to assist event tracking on a website.

Result

The application assists marketing specialists, Shopify online shops and brand owners with relevant marketing statistics bridging the gap created by privacy-related limitations on iOS-based devices.
